How to Properly Recylce

On Jan 1. 2018, China enforced a recycling policy that would force stricter limits on the type of recyclables that come from the United States. In this new policy, many plastics such as plastic wrap and smaller pieces of plastic will not be allowed to enter, styrofoam, and ANY MATERIAL WITH FOOD ON IT.

They have explained that they don't want to become the United State's trash anymore, and they are fighting to help make China a more green and clean country for it's citizens. But, what are we supposed to do?

By not relying on plastic, many zero wasters understand that plastic isn't the end to all environmental issues. The main reason being that only about 5 to 10% of those items are actually recycled.

Purchasing items in bulk and package free is an amazing options, but not a viable one for everyone in the United States. I have decided to write a complete list of as many towns as I can get to in all 50 states of the U.S on what their recycling policies are. Everything from what type of plastics they take, to where you are able to dispose of them, and even will add in a little section of the nearest bulk stores so that people can start finding out how they can optimize their recycling and help decrease the amount of packaging that ends up in their recycling and trash can.
